Brief Description: Walking distance to the Haram, its traditional Islamic-Iranian architecture and unique shopping experience make this bazaar appealing to tourists and pilgrims. This bazaar was designed to replace the old bazaar of Mashhad that was demolished during the expansion of the Haram in 1976. It has 1,711 shops on two levels and it is 960 m by 33 m. For the convenience of shoppers, it has a prayer room, restrooms, drinking fountains, information, and security kiosk, banks with ATM machines, and money exchange offices. There are six escalators to the second level as well.

This bazaar is divided into seven arcades. On the ground level in each arcade there are 100 family-owned shops and on the next level there are another 120 in each arcade. Shoppers can buy a variety of souvenirs typical of Mashhad, such as saffron, spices, rock candy, confectionaries, semi-precious stones, such as turquoise and agate, rings, silver and gold jewelry, perfumed oils, prayer rugs, beads, and stones, and clothes; or made in China suff. See the section on Souvenirs.
